The ZF 6HP26Z series transmission is engineered with extreme durability and powerful in mind so long as it is serviced on time to allow the valve body to maintain proper fluid pressure. The slightest drop in valve body fluid pressure in this unit leads to premature transmission bushing and or clutch wear along with contamination and overheating of the fluid. Rein recommends the OE or Pentosin ATF-1 synthetic automatic transmission fluid for this repair.
